He said it is the best movie he has watched in a while and that it is based on a true story. I've always enjoyed movies based on true stories, so I decided to watch it. This movie was one of the saddest movies I have ever watched. The story is about a girl named Silvia Likens who is left in the care of a housewife, who already has many children. The mother ends up imprisoning Silvia in her basement and abusing her and allowing the other children and their friends to abuse her. This takes place in the 1960's and it is so sad to see that a woman is capable of that kind of abuse and torture when she already had children of her own.
